PCP held for DE Students at LPU Campus during December 2017

Personal Contact Programme (PCP) for LPU Distance Education students of session 2017-1 was held at Lovely Professional University campus from 7th December to 12th December 2017. Several hundred students from various parts of Punjab attended the PCP and interacted with expert university faculty for face to face academic counselling.

Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Computer Applications, Information Technology, Management, Library & Information Sciences, Commerce, Mathematics, English, Education, Economics, Hindi, Political Science, History and Sociology. Around 100+ faculty members were engaged to conduct classes pertaining to 300+ courses. Students from places like Jalandhar, Phagwara, Fazilka,Phillaur, Barnala, Hoshiarpur, Amloh, Ludhiana, Abohar, Rayya, Patti, Ferozepur, Nawanshahr, Amritsar, Doraha, Dharamkot, Ajnala,
Malerkotla, Moga, Balachaur etc. attended the PCP classes.

LPU DE adjudged first runners-up in One World 2017 for representing the country Lesotho

The Directorate of Distance Education students represented the country 'Lesotho' in LPU’s mega event One World held at University Campus on 21st and 22nd November 2017.The theme of this year's One World event was "Festivals". Students from all over the Punjab participated in the event along with regular LPU students from Lesotho. Students showcased the Festivals and Cultural Celebrations of the country Lesotho and brought Lesotho alive on the University Campus.
Students left no stone unturned in charming the audiences and judges which bagged them 1st runners-up position with the cash reward of Rs. 15,000.

Several hundred students from various parts of Punjab attended the PCP and interacted with expert university faculty for face to face academic counselling.
Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Computer Applications, Information Technology, Management, Library & Information Sciences, Commerce, Mathematics, English, Education, Economics, Hindi, Political Science, History and Sociology. Students from places like Jalandhar, Phagwara, Fazilka,Phillaur, Barnala, Hoshiarpur, Amloh, Ludhiana, Abohar, Rayya, Patti, Ferozepur, Nawanshahr, Amritsar, Doraha, Dharamkot, Ajnala, Malerkotla, Balachaur etcattended the PCP classes. 

Students, especially working professionals, found it easier to attend the classes on Saturdays. Many students also found this beneficial as they get full week to revise the content taught in the previous class before going ahead in the next class. In order to cater to the requirement and feedback of students belonging to far off places, December PCP classes would be held at a stretch from 7th to 12th December 2017
