Personal Contact Programme for Distance Education Students organized by LPU at its Campus from 6th to 10th December 2016

A week long Personal Contact Programme (PCP) for Distance Education students was recently concluded at Lovely Professional University campus. Hundreds of students from various parts of Punjab attended the PCP and interacted with expert university faculty for face to face academic counseling.

Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences, Economics, Education, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Political Science, History and Sociology. Around 130 faculty members were engaged to conduct classes pertaining to 260+ courses. Students from places like Phagwara, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Malerkotla, Amritsar, Muktsar, Ropar, Mohali, Patiala, Tanda, Nabha, Nawanshahr, Malout, Abohar, Bathinda, Jagraon, Fazilka, Rajpura, Kapurthala, Banga, Budhlada, Moga, Nakodar, Ajnala, Mansa, Sunam, Rayya, Chamkaur Sahib, Pathankot etc.

While sharing their experiences, one of the students told, "I am very happy and excited to be a part of LPU. This is the only university which gives opportunity to DE students to come to the campus, attend classes and take part in university events like regular students. Faculty is also very cooperative and their way of teaching is very interesting and informative."

Representing the country Burundi, LPU DE secured 2nd runners up position in One World 2016

LPU DE students from Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Amritsar and Jalandhar participated in LPU’s mega event “One World” held on 22nd & 23rd November 2016 at University Campus and represented the Country Burundi. The spirited performance of DE students, who collaborated with LPU regular students from Burundi, got them second runners up position along with the cash award of Rs. 10,000.

His Excellency Mr. Alem Tsehaye Worldemariam (Ambassador of Eritrea to India), H.E. Mr. Illiassou Ali (Ambassador of Niger to India), a+nd H.E. Mr. Samake Niankoro Yeah (Ambassador of Mali to India) inaugurated the event.

The theme of this year’s One World was “World Peace. DE students not only got the opportunity to learn and imbibe the cultural values of Burundi but also got International exposure to know about the diverse cultural heritage of various Countries by interacting with regular students belonging to different countries. “One World” strengthened international spirit, understanding and bonds of oneness at LPU Campus. Colourful procession, expo stalls, International music and dance shows made DE students imbibe.

LPU DE Students from Raikot, Barnala, Bhadaur and Dhuri visited university campus

More than 250 students from Raikot, Barnala, Bhadaur and Dhuri belonging to LPU DE programmes of different streams visited university campus on 22nd October 2016 and got oriented about various endeavors of the university in the field of higher and distance education.

Students interacted with officials of Lovely Faculty of Distance Education and got motivated to put their best and honest efforts in their career pursuits. They also shared their feedback on various student oriented features adopted by the university to facilitate self learning of students.

Many of the visiting students displayed their creative abilities when they presented their self composed musical and literary compositions. Students were taken around on the guided trip of the campus which made them note and appreciate many engineering and architectural marvels of LPU.

Illustrative, LPU gives opportunities to DE students to interact directly with university officials. During these interactions, DE students can clear their doubts regarding their issues related to academics, study material, evaluation, certification, university events etc.
