Personal Contact Programme for Distance Education students held at University Campus

A week long Personal Contact Programme (PCP) for Distance Education students was recently concluded at Lovely Professional University campus. Hundreds of students from various parts of Punjab attended the PCP and interacted with expert university faculty for face to face academic counseling.


Based on the online registration of the students, university planned and conducted PCP classes in the disciplines of Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Commerce, Library & Information Sciences and Arts. 150+ faculty members were engaged to conduct classes pertaining to 195+ courses. Students from places like Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Amritsar,  Phagwara, Sangrur, Nawanshahr, Rajpura, Dasuya,Kapurthala, Banga, Moga, Nakodar, Ajnala , Mansa, Sunam, Anandpur Sahib and Garhshanker attended the PCP classes. Out-stationed students resided in the university hostel during the PCP.

While sharing their experiences, One of the students quoted "It is a great opportunity for DE students to interact with experts of the University and to study in such a good atmosphere, Due to financial crisis I never went to college and it was my dream to go to a college. Attending PCP at university campus is like dream come true"

LPU DE got People's Choice Award in mega event ‪One India 2016 for representing the state of Maharashtra

Directorate of ‪Distance Education of ‪Lovely Professional University got People's Choice Award (Popular Award) in mega event ‪One India 2016 for representing the state of Maharashtra. LPU DE students collaborated with LPU’s Maharashtra students for participation in the event held on 25th & 26th March 2016 at University Campus.

 
His Excellency India ChargĂ© d'Affaires of Romania, Mr Radu Octavian Dobre inaugurated ‘One India’ Expo-2016.
LPUDE students from places like Nakodar, Jalandhar, Urapar, Amritsar & Nawanshahr participated in the event with commendable contribution from  Ms. Neha  and Ms Debna (both from Garhshankar), Ms. Renuka Jaswal (Urapar) , Ms Ravneet Kaur (from Amritsar)and Ms. Neeshu from Nawanshahr.
Celebrating theme of the year “Itihaas Ke Pannon Se”, LPU students displayed historic contributions of Indian States individually. The Major attractions of the Maharashtra Stall was the handmade paintings of various personalities and the attire of the students who were depicting characters of famous personalities from the history of Maharashtra like Shivaji, Bajirao and Mastani , Bal Gangadhar Tilak etc.
